Hey fellow wanderers,
As we step day by day closer to a new year, there’s an undeniable energy in the air—a fresh canvas ready to be painted with adventures. And here’s a travel tip that has always set my year off on the right foot: setting travel intentions.
What are travel intentions, you ask? It’s about manifesting your travel dreams into reality by setting clear intentions and goals for the year ahead.
So, here’s how you can kickstart your year with travel intentions:
Take a moment to reflect on your previous travels. What experiences brought you the most joy? What destinations ignited your passion for exploration?
Envision your dream travel year. Are you exploring new cultures, diving into nature, or seeking relaxation on exotic beaches? Visualize where you want to go and what you want to experience.
Be specific about your travel goals. Whether it’s visiting a certain number of countries, experiencing unique festivals, or trying new activities, set achievable yet exciting milestones.
Bring your intentions to life by creating a vision board. Include images, destinations, and quotes that inspire your travel aspirations. Place it somewhere visible to remind you of your goals.
Break down your intentions into actionable steps. Research destinations, create a savings plan, or sign up for a travel-related course that aligns with your goals.
While planning is essential, leave room for spontaneity. Be open to unexpected travel opportunities that may arise throughout the year.
Lastly, stay committed to your travel intentions. Review them regularly and make adjustments as needed, keeping your travel dreams at the forefront of your year.
Setting travel intentions isn’t just about making plans; it’s about manifesting your desires and paving the way for a year filled with adventures, growth, and unforgettable experiences.
So, here’s to a year brimming with new destinations, cultural immersion, and awe-inspiring journeys. Happy travels, adventurers!
Cheers,

Hey fellow wanderers,
If there’s one travel tip that has transformed the way I experience the world, it’s this: be present.
In today’s digital age, it’s easy to get caught up in capturing every moment through the lens of a camera or phone. But in doing so, we often miss the essence of the experience itself. When I first started exploring I would have my digital camera and eventually my phone out constantly snapping photos in an effort to be able to remember every detail; however, instead of creating deep memories I viewed everything through a lease and due to this I experienced my travels in a less intense, a less present way. When I travel now I will take a couple of photos and a couple videos then store my cell phone away and I enjoy this experience so much more! I have also found that I will notice beautiful moments more clearly so my photos turn out much better (an example of this is the above photo I took while walking around Budapest in 2022).
On your next adventure take a step back, put down the camera occasionally, and soak in the moment with all your senses. Engage fully with the sights, sounds, and smells around you. Absorb the energy of a bustling market, feel the breeze on your face atop a mountain, savor the flavors of local cuisine without distraction.
By being present, you not only create lasting memories within yourself but also forge deeper connections with the places you visit. You’ll find that these experiences are the ones that stay with you long after the trip is over.
So, the next time you’re exploring a new destination, embrace the beauty of being fully present. Allow yourself to immerse in the moment, capturing memories not just in photographs but within your heart and soul.
Happy travels!

Hey fellow travelers,
If there’s one travel tip that’s been a game-changer for me, it’s this: pack light. I travel solely with a carry on and my backpack when I travel. I did not always travel like this. We’ve all been there – lugging around a suitcase filled with items we never touch. That’s why I swear by the art of minimalist packing. Trust me, it’s a game-changer.
My tip? Plan your outfits ahead, stick to versatile clothing, and prioritize essentials. Mix and match clothing items to create various looks, and opt for multi-purpose items that serve multiple functions.
Not only does packing light make navigating airports and transportation a breeze, but it also grants you the freedom to explore without being weighed down. Say goodbye to bulky luggage and hello to the joy of hassle-free travel. The great thing about this is that if you need clothing while traveling you can always buy it while there and check a back home should you need.
Remember, the less you carry, the more room you have for memories. So, the next time you’re packing for your adventure, embrace minimalism and enjoy the freedom it brings.
Happy travels!

Hey fellow adventurers,
Let’s talk about one travel tip that has the power to transform your entire journey: Embrace spontaneity.
Here’s the thing: while planning every detail of your trip can be comforting, leaving room for spontaneity can lead to unexpected, incredible experiences.
My tip? Say ‘yes’ more often.
When you’re traveling, opportunities may arise out of nowhere. A local invites you to a traditional celebration, or you stumble upon an intriguing hidden alleyway. Instead of hesitating, embrace these moments. Say ‘yes’ to the unknown.
These spontaneous decisions have led me to some of the most unforgettable experiences during my travels. From impromptu hikes to chance encounters with locals, these moments have added depth and richness to my adventures.
So, next time you’re exploring a new place, keep an open mind. Allow yourself to deviate from the itinerary and seize those spontaneous opportunities. Saying ‘yes’ might just lead you to the most remarkable memories of your journey.
Remember, the heart of travel often lies in the unplanned, unscripted moments. Embrace spontaneity, and let the magic unfold.
Happy travels!

Hey fellow wanderers,
Have you ever felt that burning desire to explore a place, but life seems to throw roadblocks in your way? Do you have so many dream destinations that it is challenging to narrow down where you want to travel to first? I 100% get it. That’s why I want to share a personal story about the magic that happens when you jot down your travel dreams.
Before I graduated high school in 2006 I read a book called University of Success. There are many powerful lessons in that book, but one of which was to be clear and write down the goals that you have and for me that mean, more specifically, the places I wanted to travel to. I made a rather large list and one of my dream destinations was to visit India. I would review my goal list every few months and add to it or remove what I had accomplished. I had small goals all the way up to large life goals on that list.
My life became busy at Georgia Southern University. I was making new friends and figuring out who I was at this brand new location. However, in the back corners of my mind I still yearned to experience the vibrant tapestry of India. One day, after my German language class, I decided to take a detour to the bathroom. Little did I know that this seemingly routine task would open up an opportunity of a lifetime.
As I walked past the cluttered bulletin board packed to the brim with flyers and business card, a vibrant corner of a flyer caught my eye. There it was, in bold letters: INDIA. I stopped in my tracks and I lifted off the other pages blocking it. My heart raced as I read about a multi-week trek in the Himalayan mountains, offered by the GSU’s Geography program just a few months away. It felt like fate had intervened, and this opportunity aligned perfectly with my travel goals. This study abroad program would also give me enough credits to nearly complete a minor in Geography (I had not chosen a minor yet). I took the flyer off the board, tucked it in my pocket, and went to the information meeting the next day.
A few months later I would find myself in India, experiencing the breathtaking beauty of the Himalayan Mountains.
What made this possible? I firmly believe it was the act of writing down my desire to travel to India. I had crafted a travel goal list, and somehow, the universe responded. The simple act of putting pen to paper had set the stage for serendipity. Some call it manifestation and others say that when you physically write down a goal or a dream that your brain is more likely to pick up on those key phrases (such as the bold letters INDIA mentioned above). Regardless of the source, writing my goal down was key!
Here’s why writing down your travel goals matters:
So, find a quiet place, pull out a piece or paper or a journal and take a moment to write down where you want to go. You might be surprised how the universe conspires to make your travel dreams a reality.
As for me, that spontaneous decision to detour past a bulletin board led to an unforgettable adventure in the Himalayas. The power of putting pen to paper is real, my friends.
Happy travels,
